Why is the General channel fixed? Why cannot permissions be set on it? Why cannot the name be changed to meet your user's needs? What is it's purpose in the view of MS?
It's a waste of space if you're highly organized, because all that channel provides is a dumping ground for the less organized to put all their stuff.
At least give your customers the flexibility to use the Channel as they see fit instead of setting it there and making it top dog in MY Team.

Thank you for your feedback! The team has reviewed this request and has added it to our backlog for both Standard (Public) to Private and Private to Standard (Public) channel conversion. We will share an update as soon as it’s available.

This is a key factor because as roles change within an organization, or as content within Channels change, it may become necessary to place restrictions on that content. As it is now, the Channel has to be deleted in order for new permissions to be set, which means the history of the communications within that Channel is lost.
AGREED!! It's disruptive if I am assigned to be a Producer and then one of the Presenters shares their desktop directly to the Live event feed. I lose control of the production and the entire thing can come apart.
Only Producers should be able to share content - either from their computer, or content shared through the Content window at the bottom of the Producer screen.
