I keep coming across exactly this issue.

An easy part-solution might be to update the single-line preview of the latest message (see attached), so that it reads "Draft:" with the start of the message instead of showing the previous message, and sort that user to the top, using the timestamp of the last Draft save instead of the timestamp of the last message sent or received.

That way if I forget about a draft message for several days, it might still fall off the top screen-ful of messages, but at least I'd be able to see if for a while.

And it has the benefit of (probably) being quicker to implement that a Draft messages view, so you could roll it out sooner, whilst you're still finishing the larger piece 😉

This is an accessibility fix that should have been made optional from the start. For neurodiverse and autistic users, this flashing is a nightmarish distraction.

Yes, this. It would be really useful to be able to go into my Settings and manage by backgrounds at any point, rather than needing to start joining a call and choosing the middle toggle (or amending it once I'm already in a call).

This is a duplicate of the issue at https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/18871387-allow-us-to-turn-of-flashing-taskbar-notifications; people should up-vote there too, ideally.

Not only this, but the notifications are so persistent. A toast pops up, then the taskbar item flashes for a few seconds, then stays highlit.

I even get this for messages I am replying to when Teams has focus.

I'd love to be able to dial down the importance of those notifications, so it acts more like Slack — I get a toast, then a number jewel on the taskbar. That gets my attention but then lets me go back to what I was doing previously.
