I'm surprised to see no votes on this idea. I imagined many people would have already seen this issue frequently.

Anyway a "workaround" that I use is I upload the file to OneDrive, and share the link with the colleague in chat.

As this basic feature is already available on Skype since many years, maybe Satya Nadella could talk to the owner or CEO of Skype. They can setup a meeting to figure out how Skype's code can be reused in Teams, so as to avoid reinventing the wheel. Oh wait, sorry, almost forgot, Skype is also owned by Microsoft, so why can't you just talk to the Skype developers or access the Skype source code directly?

I would have thought with the billions of dollars that Microsoft has collected over the years selling their mediocre Lose Doze operating system, they would have enough money to hire a decent UX design team, a reasonably competent management team, and at least average software developers. Seriously, how can you roll out a tool with so many basic features missing, and then even when the users ask you for them, ignore them for years together?

Could Microsoft explain what thought process led to not allowing Planner (and many other apps, for that matter) in private channels?
