Thank you for your feedback. We are continually looking to bring performance boosts to the Mac Client, including improvements with Electron 10 that are releasing. We are also aggressively addressing other areas of performance around the Mac client

Interested in how people are connecting their monitors. I used to use a Dell box and that used a lot of CPU but since I've used a couple of Apple USB-C to HDMI adapters its been much better and liveable with.

Just wondering what the point of all this feedback is. This thread started in December 2018 and currently has just under 700 votes yet there appears to have been zero engagement from MS in recognising it as a problem let alone sorting it. Does the forum actually achieve anything or is it just a way to let users vent harmlessly?

Given Bartosz’s comment below has anyone used Teams on a Mac with an eGPU to take the load and if so did it help? Given MS’s inaction on this and the need to use Teams, I’m considering it as an option.

I’d be interested in the experience of others. I have a green screen set up for Zoom. Teams used to be dreadful with disappearing arms and heads, background breakthrough etc. But recently it has been getting a lot better if you have a greenscreen behind you. Not as good as Zoom’s greenscreen function but not at all bad and certainly useable. I don’t know whether MS have built the function into the background function or whether it just performs much better with a clean uncluttered physical background to work with. Either way I now find using a greenscreen with Team usable where it didn’t use to be.

Its the reason I prefer Zoom which has it inbuilt rather than going through all the hassle of using OBS & NDi to feed Teams a virtual webcam with chroma-key. Background just has too many oddities and artefacts to work in professional presentations and given we're going to be using online much more it should be a no-brainer for Teams (as should be a lot of other things Zoom can do and MS can't!)

This is such a standard feature from most forums it beggars belief that Microsoft don’t do it already.
