I experienced similar behavior and had to open a ticket with support. They ran some sort of policy re-sync in the backend and it resolved our inability to add External/Guests to Private Channels even though they were already members of the Parent Team.
Not sure if the bug you are reporting is related but sounds very similar.Jan Vincent supported this idea ·
