Agreed. When I am in a meeting I only care about seeing the current speaker, having a panel of people jiggling in the background is distracting. I would like to disable gallery entirely (currently this tick option does nothing when chosen).

Even better, change it to "Y" or "N". I am seeing quite often team leaders run a very quick msg poll/question of the team e.g. "has everyone done their weekly report?" you can thumbsup this to indicate you have (and they can see who has not responded to follow up) but there is no thumbsdown option to indicate negative. i.e. Yes I am here, responding but have not done it yet.

And do you really want to "dislike" your team lead's question? This can give a bad impression, and is easily misinterpreted.

A simple non-emotive Yes/No quick response would be really useful in this case, also stop spam of the channel with replies that aren't necessary, and improve the professional appearance of the system.

Thank you Teams Engineering, please expedite as there may be legal implications of I or others (improperly using my computer) retrieving personal or confidential details that may have been revealed in chats. These need to be destroyed.

I'm not in the US and uncertain of rules but if this was a HIPAA case, then security of this information can be potentially compromised. Which is interesting as MS states "Microsoft Teams ...supports compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulations."

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/healthcare-solutions

I don't see how making patient confidential details eternally available to me and anyone who may jump onto my computer when my back is turned meets HIPAA regulations...

I need this as I was recently involved in a project which dealt with confidential and prviate information, and links to a protected database (Coronavirus EM) I have moved on from that role and this information (referred to in chat) should be destroyed as I am no longer qualified to access that information.

It is far too time-consuming to go through several months of chat mesages and clean them up - I want to select a user and purge all chat with them.

Please look into this as a priority.

Yes, this used to work as intended, then immediately after a Teams update both my work PC and home PC ignore the option. It continues to run in the background with four teams.exe running and limited right-click options in the notification tray.

This needs to be addressed as a priority: I work combination in office and WFH and Teams may be advertising my status as available when I am not. When Teams closes, I expect it to shut down.

Thank you all very much for the great response. The survey is now closed. The feature team will be reviewing all the data that was gathered and responded based on the findings.
Again, thank you for helping us make Microsoft Teams the best it can be.

Amazing that no-one has yet put in a request for "Search for only an exact match" it took me a while to find this.

Case: I am verifiying an email address that was posted sometime: "essential.travel" but when I type that in I get thousands of "essential travel" (with space instead) returned. Not very useful. PLEASE add exact match searching when the search phrase is enquoted.

This has been standard search functionality in query languages for, oh, 60 years or so... c'mon Microsoft.

This is incredibly bad design, almost unusable. While it makes sense if you are near the bottom if you are not it is terribad to use.

Case: I am replying to a post several days earlier. I completed or leave as draft when I see "New Messages" notification. Click on it, Team scrolls up agooooonissiiiniinglllly sloooooowly, loading every item, even worse over low-bandwidth connection. This could be hundreds or thousands of messages, gifs, pictures and other attachments, all of which have to be downloaded and rendered.

I have waited _minutes_ to scroll, and you can't just abort and go to channel because then all new messages are cleared, you have no idea what was just posted. I have a channel where it is common to have 100+ messages unread, you can't just read from bottom up on that.

"New messages" should (optionally) instantly leap to that point with that message at the top of the window. Boom, done.

If you want to have an intelligent design for better UX, then calculate how many messages will need to scrolled past. If it's more than threshold value or would take more than five seconds, just jump automatically.

Also, why is there no CTRL-END shortcut to leap to the end of the current channel?

This year-old bug has popped back up, as some of you may have noticed.

It is only affecting users who are scrolled at 85%. If you are experiencing this, please send me user logs so the team can crush this bug!

    Thank you :-)

Emoji are not very useful in a professional environment. What would be useful is a set of informative reactions or quick responses to a question instead of spamming up the channel with single-word replies. e.g. Yes, No, Maybe, Accepted, Deferred, Later, etc.
