I need this as I was recently involved in a project which dealt with confidential and prviate information, and links to a protected database (Coronavirus EM) I have moved on from that role and this information (referred to in chat) should be destroyed as I am no longer qualified to access that information.

It is far too time-consuming to go through several months of chat mesages and clean them up - I want to select a user and purge all chat with them.

Please look into this as a priority.

Thank you all very much for the great response. The survey is now closed. The feature team will be reviewing all the data that was gathered and responded based on the findings.
Again, thank you for helping us make Microsoft Teams the best it can be.

Amazing that no-one has yet put in a request for "Search for only an exact match" it took me a while to find this.

Case: I am verifiying an email address that was posted sometime: "essential.travel" but when I type that in I get thousands of "essential travel" (with space instead) returned. Not very useful. PLEASE add exact match searching when the search phrase is enquoted.

This has been standard search functionality in query languages for, oh, 60 years or so... c'mon Microsoft.

This is incredibly bad design, almost unusable. While it makes sense if you are near the bottom if you are not it is terribad to use.

Case: I am replying to a post several days earlier. I completed or leave as draft when I see "New Messages" notification. Click on it, Team scrolls up agooooonissiiiniinglllly sloooooowly, loading every item, even worse over low-bandwidth connection. This could be hundreds or thousands of messages, gifs, pictures and other attachments, all of which have to be downloaded and rendered.

I have waited _minutes_ to scroll, and you can't just abort and go to channel because then all new messages are cleared, you have no idea what was just posted. I have a channel where it is common to have 100+ messages unread, you can't just read from bottom up on that.

"New messages" should (optionally) instantly leap to that point with that message at the top of the window. Boom, done.

If you want to have an intelligent design for better UX, then calculate how many messages will need to scrolled past. If it's more than threshold value or would take more than five seconds, just jump automatically.

Also, why is there no CTRL-END shortcut to leap to the end of the current channel?

This year-old bug has popped back up, as some of you may have noticed.

It is only affecting users who are scrolled at 85%. If you are experiencing this, please send me user logs so the team can crush this bug!

    Thank you :-)

Emoji are not very useful in a professional environment. What would be useful is a set of informative reactions or quick responses to a question instead of spamming up the channel with single-word replies. e.g. Yes, No, Maybe, Accepted, Deferred, Later, etc.

Mass scrolling is absolute garbage (see also jump to date in channel, which is non-existent). I have a channel with thousands of messages. Page up/down doesn't work very well nor does space (standard web browser next page) - quite often I press these and the messages scroll up a page and begin loading, but then suddenly the focus jumps _backwards_ 3-5 days (!) a case of one step forwards and 1216 steps backward.

    Great system.

I just checked in on my team after several days off - 105 new posts! And it's NOT possible to jump to the date last read, I had to scroll agonisingly slowly to the time I last used Teams.

This really needs to be fixed so you can jump immediately to a date and then scan forward from there.

    Profile - Settings - Devices

Whatever your configured camera is recording is shown in live preview. You can also make a Test Call to check your volume levels.

Even better - default ALWAYS OFF. PTT (push to talk) button to enable mic/video only while the button is held. Like... y'know has been in use in radio comms for some 100 years...

Short of drilling a hole through your monitor or dangling a camera in the middle of your monitor this is not possible outside Star Trek. Great idea, but impractical.

My work around: Small monitor-mounted webcam moved to far left of screen. Minimise video to top left by clicking on anything else in Teams. You now have almost direct line of sight on camera by looking at Teams video.
