A fix for this is being worked on. We hope to have a fix in internal Microsoft rings soon for testing. I don’t have a timeline for release externally at this point, but will keep you posted.
Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.
I’m excited to announce that the new Large Gallery view, allowing users to see up to 49 participant in a meeting, has started rolling out! Large Gallery will release as an optional (preview) feature that can be turned on at any time during a meeting, and will be available in desktop Teams client on both Windows & Mac. We are pushing the updates via a cloud update. The minimum desktop build needed is 19173 or later. If you have this build you will see the new feature once the cloud update is pushed to you, over the coming weeks.

Alex & the Teams team
For organizations that need call recording for compliance purposes, admins can set via policy. To see how this works for calling and meetings, please see https://docs.microsoft.com/MicrosoftTeams/teams-recording-policy.
1:1 convenience recording is currently on the teams backlog. We will share an updated here as soon as it is available.
