Lets look at legacy phone support. We are not asking for rotary dial, just some tones.

Teams and Dynamics 365 Integration - key point here.

I would want an option to CHOOSE which dialer to use, phone (native) or Teams.
Currently when we use Teams and Dynamics 365 to call a contact we are unable to click to dial to Teams. Pretty lame that we have to copy and past the phone number into teams.Let put our business caps on Microsoft.

workaround - Use Microsoft Outlook to add more than one number. Teams alone can't do it.

Hmm, something Google Voice does well. Don't know what the big deal about this one is. Can we see a messing coming because someone didn't think this one through?

SALES TEAM member leaves... phone number is in limbo missing on possible sales leads. Mandatory to deal with number and not throw it into the ABYSS.
Worthless workaround:
Convert User Number to Service Number and assign to Auto Attendant (Limit on number of Resource Accounts / Virtual User Licenses). Forward to a LICENCED USER.
Note: If forwarding to external phone, you must have Communications Credits to cover the cost.
Microsoft: Please provide a way to assign multiple phone numbers to a single user.
Note: User will never have the ability to dial out from multiple phone numbers, only ONE number is assigned to that user as a "Caller ID" Multiple number incoming allowed.
