So O365 is all about collaboration and you don't get a decent reference-instead-of-duplicate functionality done?

Sharing by link creates an unbelievable mess for the recipient, you have a local file-structure or a remote SP/Teams to collaborate, but you have to maintain a second list/hierarchy of all the links you've got.

So many cool features, and then such deal breakers.

This item is still under review by the feature team. I have no details as to when a decision might happen.

I understand that there might be organizations which have huge amounts of channels and and unread-count badge doesn't make a lot of sense.
Therefore I would suggest to have a setting that let's you choose whether this is a channel that you are actively following because there is important stuff that you want to get notified of going on, or whether it is just a channel you are reading along.

The current solution with the badge on the activity doesn't work because activities can be more than channel unreads AND if you mark a message as unread in the channel, you will not know by just looking at any icon (because of course the activity doesn't get unseen because of this)
