    Thank you for your continued feedback. The feature team is actively working on this feature as well as doing work to give users the choice to open Word/Excel/PowerPoint files by default in Browser, Office app or inside the Teams app. We will share an update here as soon as one is available.

    This is an absolute MUST! Working in "in Teams" web apps is an absolute nightmare and me and my colleagues are semi forced to work this way. 100+ people all unanimously agree that working on docs within Teams is horrible. Open in Desktop App is the default first click for all!

    I fully agree that opening documents within teams (or any web app for that matter) is a productivity killer.

    This feature is absolutely paramount! Office online embedded in the Teams window is an absolute productivity killer within my organization. It is slow, has bad screen real-estate usage, severely lacking in features and is confusing in general (colleagues constantly closing Teams instead of the doc itself).

    Thank you for your feedback. Our performance team is working on improving the overall performance of the Windows client. We expect to see performance jumps in the latest version of Electron rolling out (Electron 10).

    Thank you for your reports. We released client and service updates this week, that address many MacOS-specific performance issues. We are also aware of recent performance issues with Microsoft Teams meetings, especially on laptops and when using external monitors.
