Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:

    - Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook

    - Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams

    - Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

See this post for more information:

Thank you for the feedback. We will be monitoring the votes and further comments.

Currently our recommendation is to create another team with your desired type, and migrate the files, team setup, apps, and members to the new team.

Feel free to comment further on when you may need to change Teams type for an existing team. Is it always right after you create a team?

In business, we are always collaborating, but to think that we are still pushing for individual participation in the classroom is archaic. If we want to ensure our students understand how to collaborate and partner well and prepare them for higher ed as well as the job market, we need to have them working more as teams and less as individuals. Please update the application to make this a feasible option.

Unfortunately I need to switch this back to Under Review. The feature team is investigating how best this could be implemented.

Thanks everyone for your feedback on this. As more educators look for ways to create secure assessments (especially remotely) this is one of the options we are investigating.

Thank you for the feedback and waiting for this feature with patience. We have enabled download of a meeting attendance list during a meeting. This is released for general availability. Please note this feature is turned off by default, and needs to be enabled via admin policy.

See documentation for this feature here: https://support.office.com/article/download-attendance-reports-in-teams-ae7cf170-530c-47d3-84c1-3aedac74d310

Note: We are continuing to work on enabling download after a meeting has concluded, as well.

    Thanks.

It is a good way for our teachers to "take attendance" for their courses in K12 settings.

Thank you all for your continued feedback on this feature! We are still evaluating options, so for now the ‘Posts’ tab remains the default first tab for every team.

Great suggestions so far in the comments, but please do continue to share how you would use this feature so we can better understand the use case for our planning.

Especially with remote learning, teachers need a way to provide the most useful information to their students on the opening page. This is DOUBLY true for elementary and intermediaate students and classes in K12 environments. When we are discussing engagement for younger users, we cannot expect them to "hunt" for the information they need. SharePoint is a very flexible platform, and we should be able to create this type of environment with - calendar, most recent activity, assignments due soon etc on this Dashboard. If you want widespread adoption in K12, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make it easy for our kids. This app still screams developed for business users even in and EDU tenant.

Our teachers have a better response from their parents using SMS typically. The ability to ensure these conversations are occurring within our tenant versus in an outside app or on personal phones, and are part of any e-discovery requests is the minimum requirement for K12 institutions.
