Still a problem; needs to be addressed by Microsoft.

Yes, Functionality in the channels is severely limited by not being able to break out channels into their own windows!
Does Microsoft think we only use one channel at a time? Come on! This is for business, multiple events can be occurring at the same time.
Stop making us constantly have to click everywhere and lose our places, instead of having multiple windows open!Walter supported this idea ·

Thank you for your feedback. This feature is still on the backlog, and planned for later this year.
In the meantime, you can try using the keyboard shortcut to toggle mute (Ctrl+Shift+M). For more info on keyboard shortcuts, visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/keyboard-shortcuts-for-microsoft-teams-2e8e2a70-e8d8-4a19-949b-4c36dd5292d2.

Yes, please add this feature, additionally, allow it to use a user configurable keybind.
This is still an issue.
If you try to open a large channel conversation in Teams, it takes forever to load, and you have to manually click many times on "See previous replies", so this is not very user friendly.
If you then get a message in a different channel, while you are trying to read, you will have to switch away and lose your place ENTIRELY!
Emailing does not send the full conversation, so Teams is basically unusable at a professional level.
I guess Microsoft expects us to keep all our conversations in channels to only 50 replies or so, and only have one conversation at a time.
