Hi all, thanks for the feedback thus far on attendance tracking.
We would love further details from you to better understand what you are looking for in an attendance tracking feature and to address this as fast as possible:
- Are you looking to “add a tab”? (original request)
- Are you looking for a Gradebook-like experience to track student attendance throughout the class?
- Will this be used primarily for online classes and online training, or needed for physical classrooms too?
- If you would like the ability to download the student attendance list from within a Teams meeting, could you please upvote this related UserVoice feedback: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053/suggestions/39969796
We look forward to hearing from you!

Related to this, our team is working on the “Wait in lobby” feature where it requires everyone other than the meeting organizer to go thru the lobby. Feel free to follow this other UserVoice item:

Thanks to everyone who has voted on this. The team is making progress to ensure we have a safe and secure way to allow teachers to “hard mute” students during a meeting. We will share more details as we have them.

Thank you for all the feedback. Unfortunately we need to temporarily disable this new feature on web and desktop to address an issue that has been found. A fix is underway and we will update here when the new feature is rolled back out. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for the feedback and waiting for this feature with patience. We have enabled download of a meeting attendance list during a meeting. This is released for general availability. Please note this feature is turned off by default, and needs to be enabled via admin policy.
See documentation for this feature here: https://support.office.com/article/download-attendance-reports-in-teams-ae7cf170-530c-47d3-84c1-3aedac74d310
Note: We are continuing to work on enabling download after a meeting has concluded, as well.

I’m excited to announce that the new Large Gallery view, allowing users to see up to 49 participant in a meeting, has started rolling out! Large Gallery will release as an optional (preview) feature that can be turned on at any time during a meeting, and will be available in desktop Teams client on both Windows & Mac. We are pushing the updates via a cloud update. The minimum desktop build needed is 19173 or later. If you have this build you will see the new feature once the cloud update is pushed to you, over the coming weeks.
You can read more about Large gallery view, Together mode, as well as other new meetings experiences here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/new-meeting-and-calling-experience-in-microsoft-teams/ba-p/1537581.
