I really like the suggestion of creating an alarm on a message, so you come back to it. I’ve passed this on to our engineering team.
Meanwhile, here’s another feature you can utilize for the same purpose — use our “bookmark” button, which is in the upper right corner of every message. This will save that message or thread directly to your profile. To access your saved messages, just click your face in the upper left corner of the product. You’ll see a tab in the left rail that says “Saved.” This is like a list of little reminders.
Hope that helps! :-)

Thank you for all your responses to the design survey. The survey is now closed.

The Teams interface is so inefficient. Why can't there be tabs across the top like other programs so that you don't have to keep closing things? You released pop out chats but did you even test it? If you pop out a chat then the person replies and you click the notification reply, it goes to their chat in the main Teams window, so now you have them open twice!
I tried it the other day, I had an Excel open inside of Teams, and popped out a chat first because I wanted to use both. The person replies to me, so I click the notification, and it closes Excel in Teams and goes to their chat in Teams. Real efficient having 2 windows open with the same chat now.

Not sure if this is part of this or separate but my biggest issue with the UI is how you'll click Teams, pick a Channel, click Files tab, navigate through folders, open an Excel, and then someone sends you a message which shows as a notification, but to reply you have to CLOSE the Excel! If you click the stupid notification it takes you to their chat and there's no back button or any way to go back to the Excel without navigating it again. It's so stupid that my users have literally had to create their own process of "always remember to press open in browser when opening a file in Teams" or for most of them they have just given up (myself included) and just go to SharePoint on the web and call it a day.

Yes please! Teams is so bulky and huge taking up so much space for nothing.

Why is it so complicated to get a proper UI in Teams? The popping out chats is a joke and is useless (the one linked below). If you have a chat popped out and someone messages you and you click the notification, it just opens their chat in the main Teams window, so now you have their chat open twice. Real efficient.

We are currently testing this feature internally, and will share an update as soon as it’s available. To learn more, please visit https://docs.microsoft.com/MicrosoftTeams/sharing-files-in-teams.

Why can't the URL's just be a normal size? Why is a shortener even needed? With G Suite the URLs are long but no where near Teams size, maybe 1/3rd to 1/2 of Teams. The URL's from Teams honestly seem like it's a mistake as sometimes they are a paragraph long. "Here Mr. Customer click this link to view the shared file, and yes that's the correct link it's just 6 rows long."
An error occurred while saving the comment Lee commented
Or even just a reasonable link size! We just switched from G Suite where they were long, but at least manageable. My employees are always commenting about how long the links are, and the bigger issue is people never send them as they always think it can't be correct. I've had that happen so many times where a user is like "I'm trying to get the link to share this file with you but it's not giving me the right link, look what it's showing!" and then they paste it, which is correct, but it's like a paragraph long url!

The team is looking into this feature and considering solutions. We will update when there is more information to share.

It's also stupid if you don't allow 3rd party cookies in Chrome as then links don't work at all and display an error about you need to enable cookies to use Teams on the web (even thought I've never used Teams on the web and never would).

We have raised the priority of this work item, and it is currently being worked on. We don’t have any dates to share at this point, but will update when we have new status. Thank you!

I just have to say that this issue is keeping customers away from you. We tried Office 365 back in January and ultimately gave up at that time because of how confusing this all is. I'd rename a Team, but nothing updates in SharePoint. I figured it's just typical Microsoft, a ton of systems that don't talk to each other where you basically need to be a Microsoft Engineer just to figure it all out, so we stayed with Google. I really didn't want to switch to something where doing something as simple as renaming something meant having to manually rename it EVERYWHERE it appears.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lee commented
We almost didn't even subscribe to Office 365 due to this. I was on a trial of it and any time I'd rename a channel it wouldn't rename in SharePoint so honestly was about to give up thinking typical Microsoft, can't make anything work together properly.

Thank you for your feedback! Our team is currently working on a significant update to add a broader and more diverse selection of emojis to Teams. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
The ability to add custom emojis and custom reactions is still under review, and we will share an update as soon as one is available.

The current emoji's are so sad it's like why bother even including them? People just use any of them now since they are so limited, so it's kinda become a joke for us, just reply to everyone with the angry face one since at least it's red.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lee commented
Yes! We need more of these, the built in ones are so basic. Please add more reaction emojis. Reactions are the BEST feature of Teams. Now when a colleague posts a stupid message about their kids or what they did on the weekend in a group chat I can just react with a heart emoji instead of pretending like I care!

42,562 votesThank you for your continued feedback. As many people have pointed out, this is available on mobile today. Support for replying to a specific message is on the backlog for desktop. I’ll let you know when we have progress to share. Thanks.

Nothing like having to vote for a feature that already exists on one platform just not the other. Pretty sure most people use Teams on desktop not on their phones.

Genuinely confused why this would be released on mobile and not desktop when I'm guessing most people use teams on their desktop. I had to reply to a message today and was on my Mac and had to open my phone just to reply to it. So stupid.

The team has not made a decision on whether to move forward with this feature. We will update when we have new status to share.

I agree with this. The issue I find with my company is that we use one Team and then have a "Team Chat" going which is a group chat with all 10 of us in there. Then we use Teams to chat 1:1 and IM. The problem is because Chat and Teams are different tabs, my users NEVER go to the Teams tab. I'll have them share their screen to help them with something and it will show like 57 notifications on the Teams tab because they just don't use it. Having them be combined would probably be a lot easier.

We are now preparing for the roll out of Tasks in Teams which will integrate additional features integrating To-Do and Planner. This includes additional list views that also extend to tabs in teams. Further announcements about additional integration in our overall Tasks coherence effort will follow.
You can follow the rollout via our Roadmap item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=57213. To see a preview of the experience, please visit https://youtu.be/rTATVGroEsQ.

Was just coming here to post the same feedback. It's stupid sharing your screen and then having the video at the bottom, as I always try to look at the camera at all times. Makes way more sense having the video at the top.

I don't know how this isn't a bigger issue as we have the same problem on all my users. If you answer a video call from your phone, your preview window looks fine, but to the other person it looks like you are holding your phone 6" from your face and it only shows your nose, mouth and chin. It's so bad we can't even use video on our phones because of this.

Suphatra, no disrespect, but your "workaround" could not be any further from what people are asking for and is quite frankly a bit insulting. Please Google "/remind on Slack" to see exactly what people are asking for, as your bookmark suggestion is not even close.
