This is currently in Preview – planned to release very soon.
In the following weeks, Teams will be rolling out support on Safari 11+ on macOS. While in preview, there are known issues with Safari’s ITP mode and it is advised that users disable Safari’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention.

Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.

Has this really been requested by over 500 users for two years? I don't understand why the Microsoft Teams experience is so subpar to Zoom. This command bar is moveable in Zoom so it's not covering critical information or faces on the screen. Also why do we have to pay extra to be able to dial into a meeting on the phone when Zoom doesn't charge extra for that?

Yes, the command bar is covering people's faces. Zoom lets you move the bar, which is nice.

What does "soon" mean? Rather, what does "following weeks" mean? Clearly it doesn't mean what most people think of as a few weeks, because that "coming soon" response is from NINETEEN WEEKS ago. Can you please provide a better estimate? I have a client on Safari and it was a pain for them to join my video because they were forced to figure out that it didn't work on Safari and were left scrambling to go to a different browser. This needs to roll out asap (aka not nineteen weeks).
