Adding a subject line to a message makes it a lot more scannable for everyone else. To do that, first you need to expand your compose box by clicking format icon. From there, just type the subject line you want in the first line of your expanded compose box.

I love this feature, but wish that anyone in the channel could add/update the subject of a conversation--but only the creator of the conversation can do this. It would be great to be able to allow for anyone to add a subject--especially if you have a few really good superusers who are keeping everything organized for the group.
