Unfortunately because of changing priorities, this feature was moved to the backlog. The team hopes to pick it up again in the near future.

The fact this was not included from the start shows how little the creators actually care about the product beyond locking people in.
As a workaround you might be pleased to know that using teams from a browser will give you the ability to get save as functionality through the browser.

Thank you for your votes and comments on this feature. The team is in the process of finalizing designs for deleting private chat threads. I will update as we have more progress to share.

Finally, without this Teams can't be used.
The way you organize is by deleting waste, for example, for every hit I get when searching in conversations in teams, lync, skype or any other communication app or email client I will get ten times the number of false positives, messages where someone only mentioned "btw, I did sent email with topic "X" yesterday" and then the rest of the conversation is about something else.
In teams you can't delte, only hide, and the way you find the hidden conversations is, by search….
You literally can't clean up your conversations and for every new one you have the search become less useful and it is very frustrating!

Don't swap, you won't like it
teams feels like its way behind in actual use, it tempts with practical integrations without any real value, they just sound nice
in practice you end up using a lot more time to solve the same tasks or to communicate the same information, its simply not efficient in use
I suspect many people that started with teams will move to slack if they ever get their chance to try it out.
As others have pointed out, the best bet is to stay with slack.
If I could vote against things this would be it.
It would make teams even worse in regards to sorting, overview and control than it already is.
