if you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.

Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

    @Alex

Cross posting, as mentioned by a few comments already, is a useful feature that DOESN'T meet the need being expressed by this request. Cross posting is great if I want a single post to be visible in multiple channels.

    Cross posting does not:

    1) Allow me to move conversations that got started in the wrong location
    2) Allow me to move conversations that got started in the RIGHT location, but became important enough to get their own channel / team
    3) Allow me to clean up / re-organize our teams.

Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:

    - Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook

    - Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams

    - Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

See this post for more information:

    Thanks!

@alex, I feel like your team is missing the point. Most of us don't have a huge use for sending existing messages from teams to an email.

    The thing is:

    1) we use teams for all of our internal communication.

    2) clients send us emails.

That means I need, at a minimum, two apps open - just for communication. That's a lot of valuable screen real estate.

Embedding outlook into teams allows us to only have ONE window for all of our communication.

We're not asking for an entirely new email interface (not that it wouldn't be good). Just give us the ability to open outlook in a frame in teams (you're already doing it for all the other 365 apps)

Thank you for your continued feedback. The feature team is actively working on this feature as well as doing work to give users the choice to open Word/Excel/PowerPoint files by default in Browser, Office app or inside the Teams app. We will share an update here as soon as one is available.

We are now preparing for the roll out of Tasks in Teams which will integrate additional features integrating To-Do and Planner. This includes additional list views that also extend to tabs in teams. Further announcements about additional integration in our overall Tasks coherence effort will follow.

You can follow the rollout via our Roadmap item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=57213. To see a preview of the experience, please visit https://youtu.be/rTATVGroEsQ.
