I've had a customer ask about this and they do appear to have it working - if they create a Contact in Outlook it will come through to Teams! But it's not consistent.

We are currently testing the ‘hard audio mute’ feature internally. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

To view this item on the roadmap, please visit https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft%20Teams&searchterms=66575.

For the separate feature ask to disable attendee video, please track and/or upvote this suggestions: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/40255927.

MSFT should have a look at how Zoom works - I'm a huge fan of Teams, but having recently investigated Zoom for a friend, there are some really good features for larger meetings.

Yes, this seems like an odd limitation. It seems reasonable to want to use an encoder for this type of large public application.

This is a quite a big deal for customers, we've got a customer who says callers are dropping off while on hold during a consultative transfer because the caller gets silence so assumes they've been cut off.

Are you referring to doing this on the Mac client? If so, I've made the same mistake and hung a call up for this reason! I'm not entirely sure it's unexpected behaviour but I have done it in a meeting a couple of times.

I've not seen the issue whereby I get access to files I shouldn't, but:

If you click on a link to a file in a Team of which you are not a member, Teams opens in a random Team (possibly the first Team you were ever added to), instead of a Join page, or suitable error message.

In fact, it's not obvious which Team you need to ask to be added to.

On my Mac, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't, but often I get an issue whereby it selects Custom Device, i.e. the Mac's microphone but my certified headset for the speakers.
