The team continues to make progress on this. We will share more details as we have them.
Love that you guys are actually taking feedback and adding new features. This feature can't come soon enough.
I think it would have been much easier if you had just attached a shared mailbox to every team. Then for each Team or Channel, you could choose to add Email/Calendar/Contacts that would create those folders in the underlying Shared Mailbox with the same permissions/names as the Channels.
You could then open the shared mailbox in Outlook (Desktop,Web,Mobile) to access shared Email,Contacts and Calendars.
We use teams for major departments (Marketing, Projects, Accounting, Etc) but then use channels for each Project, AR, AP, etc... It makes things easier to manage. But it would be super helpful to have a Separate Calendar / Contacts for each project, and/or a global one for each team.
This is still being worked upon. I hope to have more details in the next couple months.
Please know the team is actively working on this feature.
I love so many of the New Features you guys are working on, but I'll never understand why you didn't just pin a Shared Mailbox to each Team instead of creating a whole new quasi-mailbox / quasi-group. We have to have a Separate Shared Mailbox and Team for each department because Aliases, Department Contact Lists, and Task lists don't integrate very well across these platforms. I wish you would keep developing solutions you've already started rather than just starting from scratch and ending up with 2 separate competing features.
Due to prioritization of other work-items this has been moved to the backlog. We will update when it is being actively worked on again.
Love all the great new features. Pining Team Files to Personal Conversations would be a huge plus. I'm sure I can link the web link but there are many times that I'm collaborating with only 1 or 2 team members outside if the team and would love to easily be able to pin a team excel document to conversation without having to copy it into the conversations.
Or if dragging a file stored on OneDrive or in a Team Library, would automatically ask you if you want to copy it or link the existing.
