I’m excited to announce that a new Large Gallery view, with the ability to see up to 49 participant in a meeting, is coming soon to Teams! Large Gallery will release as an optional (preview) feature that can be turned on at any time during a meeting. Large Gallery has a flexible design and will deliver a network-optimized client video experience that works on multiple device categories. During the preview, the Large Gallery experience will be available for desktop Teams client on both Windows & Mac, as well as for mobile Teams client (iOS, Android) users.

You can read more about Large gallery view, as well as the new Together mode feature, here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-teams-june-2020/ba-p/1489142.

Large Gallery will begin rolling out with the new pop-out meetings experience for desktop clients in early July, and we are targeting full availability including mobile clients for iOS and Android by early September.

    For…

Glad to see that there is momentum building on having more faces in a chat. As for the original discussion, you can see on the bottom icon bar at least another 4 or 6 live videos if that many have been turned on.

Thank you for your continued feedback and comments on this feature. We are actively working on showing all assignments across all your class teams in the personal Assignments app on the left app bar. We will continue to update as we make progress.

Thank you so much for your patience.

Make it selectable, maybe even give the students the option of choosing which view they want to use. Teachers should be able to see the chronology, either given or due dates, of the assignments given to each "Team".

This feature request is being reviewed by the feature team. No new details to share at this time.

Meanwhile, feel free to share why you need this in class teams / staff teams, and what you need to see (ie # read / list of users read / timestamp of read) and for what purpose.

Students will use any excuse to avoid work. We all know someone whose dog ate their homework... Having a read receipt will confirm that a distributed worksheet, quiz, rubric, or test, did make it into the student's notebook. No excuses...

Thank you everyone for the feedback on bringing Assignments to the Teams Calendar! We know how important this is to the experience and are working on how to best deliver this functionality to all the students and educators in our community.

Thank you all for your continued feedback on this feature! We are still evaluating options, so for now the ‘Posts’ tab remains the default first tab for every team.

Great suggestions so far in the comments, but please do continue to share how you would use this feature so we can better understand the use case for our planning.

Thank you for all of the feedback around this feature! We are reviewing what the best path forward is for this.

Just so everyone knows in the meantime, teachers can absolutely review any student attached or distributed work in Assignments even if students have not clicked the ‘Turn in’ button. Some of the comments also mention that the work might not be done digitally and submitted a different way, students can also Turn in the assignment without attaching any files/resources or can use the Teams mobile app to take a photo of their paper-based work to submit digitally.

Finally, when you return the assignment as a teacher (even without the student turning in) the feedback loop is also closed. Hope this helps.

Great suggestion for all STEM classes! I’ve moved this feature to ‘under review’.
