To "Record desktop screen and share in a Channel without a group meeting" This can achieved this by going into teams calendar and starting a meeting with yourself and click on the "Meet Now" option. Join the meeting and then select "other join options" and select record. You then need to share your screen and select whichever screen you wish to perform the recording on.
