Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

I'm surprised that this was suggested two years ago and there's no progress on this feature.
Not having displayed subject lines is a huge downside to channel conversations in Teams.

Adding a subject line to a message makes it a lot more scannable for everyone else. To do that, first you need to expand your compose box by clicking format icon. From there, just type the subject line you want in the first line of your expanded compose box.

I was able to go back and edit my post to add a subject line, but am adding my vote to include a mandatory setting.
It's silly that we have to teach each individual in the organization how to do it properly (ripe for user error) vs. just making the field automatically available.
Here's a link to vote on the uservoice post for mandatory subject lines: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/20489707-make-subject-line-visible-by-default-on-new-conver
This is a basic function and I'm shocked it's on backlog given that the original request was made in 2016. So we have to delete project-specific channels and lose their history instead of just being able to archive them? This makes no sense business-wise; I would love to see a roadmap for 2020 to see what you're prioritizing over such a fundamental feature.
