This feature is still under review. The feature team is digging into the details but have not made a decision yet.

The team is making progress on showing Office 365 group calendars in Teams. We will share more details as we have them.

Meanwhile, feel free to share what types of meetings do you create in the group calendars for classes and staff?

Agree that this needs to be changed by default, but you need to make students attendees in the meeting. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/roles-in-a-teams-meeting-c16fa7d0-1666-4dde-8686-0a0bfe16e019

Microsoft are working on an admin policy for this according to this uservoice: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053-schools-and-universities/suggestions/39989980-add-a-global-admin-setting-for-the-default-role-of

Yes please. We have students abusing this (vulgar messages and also using mentions in status messages as a means to chat). We have private chat in Teams is disabled by policy for students, but they've discovered they can @ mention each other in statuses to essentially bypass the restriction - the notification takes them to the chat interface which they can't type into, but the status notifications deliver messages into the chat interface.. Would love to disable the ability to set custom statuses for problem users by policy, and clear them if necessary.

Yes! This would be a very useful channel setting! The current channel settings are all or nothing. We don't want posts by teachers getting drowned out by junk posted by students, but we do want students to be able to discuss content with the teachers.. (same request here: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/40138153-only-allow-replies-to-teacher-posts-in-a-channel )

Absolutely. We've had students post inappropriate things and had to manually delete hours of conversations message by message.. It probably would have been quicker to nuke the team and start over.. which is absurd.
