We are continuing to work on this feature. As with Windows notifications, we are also doing work to give users the choice between Teams notifications & Mac notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.

It's embarrassing that this feature is missing at this point. Teams is entirely unprofessional. When I'm in a group setting sharing my desktop and all people on the call can see the entirety of personal chat messages and notifications... SMH. All my other system notifications respect the do not disturb setting. Please make this work.
The team has made a fix, and we are in the final testing phase. I hope to have good news for you soon!
We have rolled out a fix for improving Mac performance while in a meeting. This should help with heating and perf issue on Macs.
Please update your client (Settings→check for updates). Let us know your feedback. There are other performance improvements we are working in parallel, we will share updates as soon as they are available.
This feature remains on the backlog, while we work on other high priority Meetings features.
Thank you for your continued feedback. The feature team is actively working on this highly requested feature. We are testing the first release that will have the ability for meeting hosts to create breakout rooms, assign the users to the rooms and call them back to the main room. Please see our roadmap for current status here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft%20Teams&searchterms=65332.
The team has not made a decision on whether to move forward with this feature. We will update when we have new status to share.
