Thank you for your reports. We released client and service updates this week, that address many MacOS-specific performance issues. We are also aware of recent performance issues with Microsoft Teams meetings, especially on laptops and when using external monitors.

The team is working to resolve these issues. In the meantime, please find troubleshooting information here: https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/troubleshoot/known-issues/teams-slow-video-meetings-laptops-4k.

+1 (yes I voted above) but man this is terrible.

Teams is a CPU/GPU resource hog and by far the worst-performing application on my Mac. Takes 2-3 seconds in hitting the mute/unmute on calls for it to respond - or when clicking on anything. I usually click on a chat window, start typing, hit enter and find that the first 5-10 characters are missing. Terrible.

BRAND NEW Macbook Pro, few other apps, 32GB memory, high end CPU. The attached is typical of ALL Teams calls - fans on full blast.

Does the team that develops this **** have any 64-bit OS coding experience?

It's yet another example of how Microsoft tries to shove as many things on one app as possible and calls it a wonder (Outlook anyone? Another ridiculous resource hog)

Sorry but this is gone on long enough. Fix it, Microsoft. Or just stop pretending you know what you're doing for Mac app dev.

And yes, I've deleted cache, disabled GPU acceleration, reinstalled, etc.

While I'm at it, can you PLEASE for the love of god use native Mac OS notifications for IMs and other notifications, vs your bastardized poor implementation of notifications?

We are getting closer, and are still working thru some bugs, but hope to release this as part of a Public Preview pack in early 2021! (Windows 10 released with the December 2020 pack this week)

You can learn more about the new Microsoft Teams Public Preview program here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreview, and Teams administrators can find documentation to manage which users will see the Public Preview option here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreviewAdmin

Once your tenant is using UPS (unified presence service), you should no longer have issues where DND changes back to available.

If you are on UPS, and are experiencing this issue, it would be super helpful if you can capture logs by typing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 1, and send the file from your downloads folder along with any details to teamsml@microsoft.com.

    Thanks all!

Still an issue - SIGH. Thanks Microsoft. You've made my attempt at working after hours a miserable experience.
