we have this!  ·  Warren responded

You are able to delete your own messages within a chat or channel. Click the ellipses on your message and you can then use the drop down menu selection of Delete to remove your own message.

You cannot delete old chat threads, but you can hide them by clicking the ellipses and choosing Hide.

It is really important as a teacher to be able to fully moderate and delete inappropriate comments from students. The only way so far I've been able to do this is by deleting the entire channel, which means that all the information that is relevant to our class must go as well, because of a few comments that were inappropriate. As the creator of the education account, it seems odd that we cannot appropriately moderate the posts our students have already made, without hunting them down and making them remove it themselves. Clicking on the ellipses does not give the owner the option to delete the student comment. It would be fantastic if you can build it into a policy that could then be given to staff through office 365, or something similar.
