Or just allow users to move the control bar to where they want it. Maybe even remember that position for the next meeting!

Right as you're joining an already-running meeting, the first thing you want to do is see who's in the meeting, so you go to click on the Show Participants button... then the Request Control button finally loads, and appears right where the Show Participants button was, shifting it to the left. So you end up clicking on Request Control when you never meant to do that. I've done that to many times, and it's very embarrassing. It throws the presenter off-track (disrupts their train of thought), and everyone in the meeting is wondering why I feel I need to take control.

Buttons on the toolbar should NEVER move, ever, period! If you're getting ready to click on a button, there should NEVER be the risk that another button will load and push the one you're getting ready to click out of the way. BTW the toolbar itself should be able to be moved, but only under user control. It should never move on its own.

Also I agree with the other suggestion that a click on the Request Control button should be verified by a popup, "Do you really want to request control?" You could add a checkbox also, [x] Never ask me again, for people who feel confident that they'll never click it by accident, as long as there's a way to undo that check in the settings.

At the same time, it would be nice to show how long they've been at that status like Skype for Business showed: Out-of-office for 2 days, or Away for 15 minutes; there's a big difference: If it's lunchtime and their status says they've been away for 15 minutes, I know there's a good chance they'll be back soon. I know this information is available under their name if I hover over the contact's icon, but I want to be able to see this information immediately for all of my contacts as I visually scan down my contacts list like I could do with Skype for Business. Some people don't WANT a cleaner interface... some people WANT more information available without having to dig for it.
