I’m happy to share that the team has started exploring designs for this feature.Max commented
The fact that most people used the simple messaging feature of SFB 90% of the time and don't need all the bells and whistles Teams offers is driving most of my company's users crazy. Not all department functions collaborate at this high level. Not being able tab off and message someone while still watching a screen share is not understanding how people used SFB. I don't like that I can't delete and keep seeing old messages like "Can I call you?", "I'm running late, be there soon", "what room is the meeting in?". More people will revert to texting.
Multi-window chat is in testing. I hope to have great news regarding rollout to the public rings soon.
We are working to ensure that multi-window and other future multi-window experiences are of the highest quality when they release.
There are times during calls, that sidebar chats are necessary and split off on my second monitor. I had to switch to Teams but prefer some of the simpler uses of Skype. Teams is so beefed up when all you want to do is have a quick chat with a colleague.
