This is flatly still a MAJOR issue that MS doesn't fix. The fixes of "deleting cached passwords" took me 5 times to get my user to actually work. That's not root cause that's throwing monkey poo against the wall till it sticks.
MS this is nonsensical and needs to be formally addressed. Just deleting pw's if it worked the first time might be an acceptable work around. The sheer # of us who had to do it three-five times is just bad bad bad. I find it impossible to believe that we "all" did it wrong. (which is the default "go to" when a solution offered doesn't work.
Well that was 30 minutes of my life and my users life wasted.
