Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

Thank you for your feedback! Our team is currently working on a significant update to add a broader and more diverse selection of emojis to Teams. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
The ability to add custom emojis and custom reactions is still under review, and we will share an update as soon as one is available.

This is really terrible this feature doesn't work. We are trying to use Teams as a full phone system. For a front desk person, to not have this ability is terrible. Please add!

Please add this feature, it makes collaborating on a document you intend to share with someone who is not part of the team of chat difficult.
