Thank you for your continued feedback. As many people have pointed out, this is available on mobile today. Support for replying to a specific message is on the backlog for desktop. I’ll let you know when we have progress to share. Thanks.

Please can you prioritise this - it should be core functionality on any text based chat app.

This is still under review, no decision has been made. But I will keep following up with the feature team and providing them your feedback.

Is there an ETA to this? Seems very limiting that text has to be manually copied and pasted, and images cannot even be copied.

Alex, please can you share an update on how this is developing? We are still seeing low utilization of Teams despite going live over a year ago and the UI is a major factor. On the standard 1920x1080 screens it's only possible to view seven lines of text in the same window. Seven!

I hope the compact mode includes at last the following two significant improvements: 1) remove the "reply" button after every message 2) merge consecutive messages by the same user.

    Thank you.

try this instead  ·  Warren responded

Whether you are using PC or MAC you can already take a screen shot.

With PC the shortcut for a selected capture area is: SHIFT+WINDOWS_Key+S
(this will allow you to select an area and capture it as an image to the clipboard.)
With PC the shortcut for a entire desktop screen capture is the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard.

With MAC the shortcut for a selected capture area is: COMMAND+SHIFT+4
(this will allow you to select an area and capture it as an image to the clipboard.)
With MAC the shortcut for an entire desktop screen capture is: COMMAND+CTRL+SHIFT+3

This should meet your needs. If you feel it does not, please provide a summary in the comments as to your use case and why the OS capture tools are insufficient for your needs.

    Thank you!

Just migrated from Jabber to Teams and the loss of the screenshot functionality has been noticeable in terms of slower working across multiple sites. Enhanced functionality over and above what OS capture tools provide to annotate and type text in of the image would be particularly useful. Please consider this.
