    This is exactly what is required across ABF.

    We have a strict MAMA process - Meetings: Agenda, Minutes, Actions. Having the opportunity to set up a template of Notes would remove the admin overhead for EVERY meeting.

    For Teams meetings that are not connected to a Team, we know that meeting notes are stored in the OneDrive of the user raising opening the feature, so in this case the template should come from the meeting originator. A suitable Meetings Options page setting interface should allow the originator to set this up by opening the Template and setting the content ahead of the meeting (make it policy controllable if you want)

    For Channel based Teams Meetings where the notes are stored in the Teams Channel, the template could come from a meetings setting that the Team owner can access.

    In either case the template file should be stored in the same location as the stored Meeting Notes, so that changes to the Template could be made easily and pushed out across the enterprise by script or policy.

    Here is the contents of a Registry file that will set up the Edge Policy mentioned in my last post, for those who want to try it without creating a Group Policy. I can't attach the file directly to this comment so to use it you will need to create a .reg file in Notepad and paste in the following 4 lines:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\URLAllowlist]
    "1"="msteams://*"

    Before importing you should check the Edge://policy page to see if you already have an URLAllowlist policy defined. If you do see URLs listed check the notes below. If not, you can double click on the .reg file to load the policy.

    Restart Edge (or reload the policy from edge://policy page - there is a button there) and the setting will show at the bottom of the list.

    NOTES:
    1) You will need permission to implement the policy
    2) You may find that your domain group policy overwrites the Edge policy if you have already URLs defined. If so, increment the number 1 in the file to something higher than the number of URLs you are seeing (it does not need to be contiguous) and re-import.

    Hi All.

    After a lot of searching I have identified a solution to this issue: Set the policy in Edge named URLAllowlist with the value msteams://*

    Once set (and no other policy settings are needed - despite what the docs say), then clicking links in Outlook or any other application will always open the Teams desktop app if it is available. If Chrome is your default browser we have not seen the same stop at the web question issue, but for completeness the policy name is the same.

    Policies are set in the registry, and can be defined for an individual or a machine and can be pushed by group policy. See here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/DeployEdge/microsoft-edge-policies#urlallowlist

    Note that Edge still pops up and creates another tab with the question about using Web or App, but it does not pause there - Edge is sent to the back and focus goes straight onto opening Teams App.

    The only downside is that the tab in Edge is still opened (and does not close) and if you click on another link to Teams another Tab will be opened, so users will need to close these tabs later - but at least Edge is sent to the background and the user is not required to answer the question each time they join a meeting; access Tasks from an email; or any other of the links that take you to Teams app.
