    We’re fixing bugs identified in the comments, and other user reports we’ve received around markdown, but we’ve decided we’re not going to fundamentally change our markdown support.

    This is the first time we’ve declined a request, and it didn’t come easily. We weighed this against other important features we’re working on to deliver and we had to make some tough choices.

    Really appreciate your understanding on this, and please feel free to ping me if you have any questions, complaints, or need to rant.

    This needs to be re-opened, as Eskild Diderichsen pointed out, WYSIWYG is great for non-developers or non-power users.

    As a developer I read "Teams Has Markdown Support" and immediately attempted to send code snippets as such:

    public static void myMethod() {
    // do stuff
    but no, I had to fight to figure out why it was forcing a new 'text box' on me... this was opposite to what I get from:

    If you are not going to fix the current implementation, then allow for a 'Poweruser Mode' which disables WYSIWYG for most markdown ( I would leave it in for images / attachments ).

    Seriously, if a __**Game Chat Client**__ is better for software development than a purported "Professional Communication Platform" than there are some serious design oversights.
