This would definitely facilitate cross team collaboration. The more clicks I have to do to get to a shared screen, the less likely I am to use Teams to do it. I'm in a chat b/c someone just pinged me for help on something, and I can't go 'here, let me show you' and click a meet now button right in the chat. Or say 'hey, let me draw that for you and show you how i'd solve that problem' with a shared chat whiteboard.
Definite need.

This is so no-brainer. I just wasted a ton of time thinking I was short-circuiting the laborious 'add a user' motion, to find out this logical approach doesn't exist.
It's time MS gets serious about this app.

I really like the suggestion of creating an alarm on a message, so you come back to it. I’ve passed this on to our engineering team.
Meanwhile, here’s another feature you can utilize for the same purpose — use our “bookmark” button, which is in the upper right corner of every message. This will save that message or thread directly to your profile. To access your saved messages, just click your face in the upper left corner of the product. You’ll see a tab in the left rail that says “Saved.” This is like a list of little reminders.
Hope that helps! :-)

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

Hopefully the roadmap update posted here
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=55369and showing a last update of 9/16 supersedes the last update from Alex. Migrating from Slack to Teams and not being able to pin the channels I care about out of a team is a BRUTAL user experience. I don't need AI to figure out what I like, I need to be able to direct the application to show what I NEED, NOW.

Yes, this is 100% necessary. I am in Teams overload now as we deploy, and having the description in the banner, either under the Public/Private and Classification identifier or to the left of it would help immensely with remembering what the purpose of each team (and ultimately channel) is for.
We used this kind of display in Slack with immense success to establish a 'ticketing' system of urgency for requests, and having it at the top of the screen was key. We need something similar to that for Teams. Even if it was a mouse-over on the Team and/or Channel name it would be helpful, but a constant display is best.
