This is still THE biggest problem in all companies that try to use Teams. Regardless where I try to introduce Teams to a company, department or team, this bugs the people. Regardless of how big of a red screen I make this in my opening presentations, people are making this mistake. Again and again. And they are feeling stupid about it, and blame MS Teams. And this makes it really, really hard to gain acceptance for MS Teams.

It is absolutely unacceptable, that this issue is "worked on" for years now!

Just use the mobile-layout on the desktop app: a big "+"-button. Problem solved. ****, this can't be that hard. It's an communicated issue for 3 years now!

Do you even have a team working on Teams, or is this a one man project? Your speed of innovating is terrible.

This really needs to be addressed! In the mobile app it works fine. Why not use the same layout in the desktop app? Means, have a button for "new conversation", instead of a chat bar, that looks like you can use it to answer.

Actually, this UX-failure is giving me the hardest time, to roll out Teams country-wide. I get so many angry reactions from possible users. I will not be able to succesfully migrate from Skype for Business unless this is addressed.

And if people miss-read this feature, you are not even able to fix it as a moderator. Because there are not moderation-tools.

if you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.

Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

Cross-Posting is NOT a solution! Do you even use Teams yourself?

The TRY THIS INSTEAD is absolutly useless. Sometimes, when I read the Admins replys, I assume they don't use Teams themselves.

We are working on the release of the Tasks application in Microsoft Teams that will aggregate data from Microsoft To-Do, Planner and Outlook with more capabilities on the way. You can see Planner data in Kanban views today, and the Tasks app will continue to support that view. In January we announced task publishing which will release with the new app. Get an overview at https://youtu.be/rTATVGroEsQ.

The adaptivecard-designer doesn't even support the messagecard-format (anymore?). This is so inconvienient.

Yeah, this topic needs a lot more improvement. Conversation within a task/ticket should generate a conversation within a Teams-channel, like conversations about files.

Teams should reduce e-mail-clutter, but Planner sabotages that.

This feature is still being reviewed by the feature team. No decision has been made yet. I’ll keep you posted.

I disagree on this. Chatting works differently in "Chat" and "Teams". In "Chat" you have something like WhatsApp, which is easily described to non-techy-colleagues. In "Teams" you need to have a bit more discipline to hit "Reply" and get used to the thread-based "chatting".

Keeping that separated makes it lot easier to train colleagues.

It's really frustrating that we are promised an ETA "after the holidays" and almost 8 months later, still no update on this.

Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:

    - Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook

    - Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams

    - Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

See this post for more information:

Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.
