This happens with Elite Jabra 75t as well, not just airpods. Jabra makes a specific version "Evolve" vs "Elite" that works with Teams, so not sure if this is a technical issue or a licensing issue.
There are zero responses to any of the issues categorized under "IP Phones". Why is that? I hear tell from the phone manufacturer that there's a Teams update coming in Q1 2020 that will include a speed dial function that will finally enable sidecar support, but nothing about this here in Uservoice, nor is there any more precise ETA than Q1. How do we sign up to test flight the new app on phones. This is such a critical miss on the part of the phones app.
Basic phone features like this need to be supported in the Teams app for phones pronto! We've really taken the desk sets back a couple notches by migrating to Teams, and that's a ****** story to have to tell our clients.
Agreed, Teams needs a speed dial list displayed on the phone and sidecar support for receptionists. The oversights on these units are just galling, and the lack of communication about the roadmap for phone features is nonexistent. Rolling out phone projects is definitely impacted by this lack of feature parity with the S4B phones - they really jumped the gun on this.
I still can't see a contacts list on my Teams-Certified desk phone. Just call history. Literally an unworkable replacement for SfB and 3PIP phones. And our clients are being pushed to transition.
Seems like this issue is duplicated a couple times, but definitely needed! I can't even get a favorites list on my Yealink that's Teams-certified.
I think the best option right now is to disable password expiration, and enable compensating controls like MFA and complexity requirements, so users just do web sign-in on a 3PIP phone and forget it.
Microsoft's baseline configuration policy is going to soon dump password expiration on Windows 10, but it comes with the caveat that you should be using MFA and some detective controls to understand when a password gets compromised.
We need this as well ASAP. It's frustrating that so many of these basic features from SfB aren't supported in Teams yet, but our clients are being pushed over to this platform. Doubly frustrating to see what silly features are in development when these basics aren't being addressed.
Teams shows the user names(from Outlook contacts) in toast and call history. We are working on showing contacts that are from Azure Active Directory.

Note: Direct calls to a users voicemail is a separate feature which is planned. We’ll update when we have more details to share on this one.
