We have a company wide corporate managed Team set up for ongoing communication, which is particularly helpful right now. But we utilize a moderated channel to control who can @mention the team, create new content, etc. We were not able to moderate in the General channel, so we do not use this embedded community at all. It unfortunately still shows up first, before the actual channel that we use daily. To make matters worse, right now the General channel is an ongoing list of membership updates - i.e. those who join or leave the company. I really wish that we could keep this activity private or at least not on display in front of everyone's faces.
Any update on this ongoing concern Microsoft?

Microsoft, any update on this ongoing concern to rename/remove the General channel?
