I disagree. If anything, this should be done with colors or just by hovering over the status icon. A phone status icon should be reserved fir when someone is actually on the phone.

This is sorely needed. People on calls get interrupted all the time because others can’t distinguish, at a glance, if they are actively on a call/meeting or just busy because they blocked some time on their calendar to remind them to work on a project.
