We know you are patiently waiting for this feature. This feature is being implemented in stages. Fast tenant switching is currently in testing both internally and with early customers. We expect to release to the public in the Fall. I’ll post an update once it’s rolling out.
Full multi-tenant, multi-user support will be added after fast tenant switching.
Please check “Teams/Skype Consumer chat and calling interop” on the public roadmap at microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters.. for updates.Kevin Barrett commented
Do we have a scope of the integration plans yet? will it include video and desktop sharing? Also will it include skype business integration for the larger companies who opt not to move to Teams? it would be very bad to force small and medium companies to migrate and in the process no longer allow them to communicate with their customers and vendors who happen to be large corporate customers who are still running SKYPE for Business.Kevin Barrett commented
I would add that all features that currently exist in the Skype for Business and Skype for Consumers communication MUST be functional in the teams environment before you force your Business Customers to Migrate to Teams! My Company was forced over and this has impacted our Business Operations and productivity. We have had to Purchase a web meeting service just to do screen sharing and Video Calls that were available in the Skype environment! There service includes a chat client - and I can see Business Clients who have Skype forcible removed from their accounts abandoning MS for other service providers.
