I literally don't even see how the product team even TRIED to scope this feature out. HOW WAS THIS MISSED?!

Pretty essential. Especially since loading previous conversations takes FOREVERRRRR

try this instead  ·  Suphatra responded

I have had this problem too, and trust me I find it not intuitive either.

I’ve sent this to the Files team and I’m going to find out where this is on the backlog so I can report back to you guys.

Meanwhile, the workaround is that you have to delete the chat message of which you sent the message.

Thanks and tweet me @skprufo if you have any questions!

Agree! Not intuitive. Wasn't saving files shared in chats because I incorrectly assumed that Teams would do it for me.

Slack does this nicely where you can always see the things that were shared between users at any time. Also, chats always can be accessed again and you can see the files shared within those groups or chats.

This item is still being reviewed by the feature team. No additional news to share at this time.

Not having the context and full historical data search basically makes your search feature a faux feature. Not a search. Basically I use it to get the date of when something around that topic came up, then I need to scroll in the chat to find it. And scrolling too far in the past makes Teams crash. And it takes forever to load. So there's not really a workaround for this. I don't want to use teams anymore for important information since I don't trust it to maintain that information over time and be able to serve it up when I need it. My conversations are lost.

    slack does this better.
