I'm also struggling with this, we have some users with multiple accounts due to different geographical locations where aliases to their mailbox is not feasible due to the way the data/email are structured and we end up with several results for the same person on teams. We have to write the different email addresses on the display name to make easier to identify, but that is an ugly work around. Please add an option to hide.

also delete the chat itself when no longer required
I’m happy to share that the team has started exploring designs for this feature.
I've created a chat with 5 people, we discussed what had to be discussed now the chat is irrelevant. I want to delete it but there is no such option.
Now the chat is always there, leaving the chat leaves it there. I want it deleted and not having to ask each person to leave it.
Please allow the creator of the chat to delete it!
1:1 chats when having long conversations using multiple subjects becomes really difficult to keep track as there is no way to create a subject message like on a regular channel and you cannot reply to a message like using quotes. Take for example Whatsapp and skype.
Please add a function to create 1:1 messages with subjects and then that message can develop as a individual tread, or then add a quote/reply function that mentions to which message you are replying to
