    I read this post today facing the same problem, the way I worked around this was to create a new Sway in my office 365 account, pasted all the photos into it, shared the sway with everyone in my organisation and then added a new tab as a website in teams and pasted the url for the sway page. It works really well, previews all the pictures and I can click through them without having to constantly open and close files
