Along the same lines we would like to allow teachers to make private calls to students but not allow students to call each other or to call teachers. Right now when the Calling Policy is off, students can neither make nor receive calls. It would be great if you could set that to allow receipt of calls but block the instigation of calls and then allow teachers to make and receive calls. Thank you.

As we are about to go into the Covid-19 mode, we would like to be able to set messaging and meetings policies so that teachers can initiate calls and chats and students can participate but we do not want students to be able to start chats or calls amongst themselves. It is not clear from the documentation whether there is a way to achieve this. Could there be an additional and clear way to set this up in the Teams Admin policy settings? Thank you.

We would like teachers to have overall control over whether student cameras are on or off during the lesson. We would like to allow teachers the possibility to either disable or enable all cameras at the start or during the lesson. Teachers have reported that it can be extremely time-consuming at the start of the lesson getting students to either enable or disable their cameras themselves. Having this control as part of the in-meeting settings would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

Thank you for all of the feedback around this feature! We are reviewing what the best path forward is for this.
Just so everyone knows in the meantime, teachers can absolutely review any student attached or distributed work in Assignments even if students have not clicked the ‘Turn in’ button. Some of the comments also mention that the work might not be done digitally and submitted a different way, students can also Turn in the assignment without attaching any files/resources or can use the Teams mobile app to take a photo of their paper-based work to submit digitally.
Finally, when you return the assignment as a teacher (even without the student turning in) the feedback loop is also closed. Hope this helps.

We have teachers using Teams for education and they are asking for the ability to group certain classes and administrative Teams to keep things more manageable. Having this ability would be a really good feature.

I would also like to see this functionality. I have a cluster of Teams set up for our IT team (projects, network, HR/admin, printing, etc) and it would be great to be able to link or cluster these so that it is clear that there is a relationship between them. I am going to make the central SharePoint site behind the Teams a Hub Site with the others as satellites, but it would be great to have similar functionality for Teams.

I have been asked to research using Live Events as an alternative to Zoom. Unfortunately, this issue as well as the in ability to allow pre-register attendees or allow them to make voice comments probably means we will stick with Zoom for now. If these three features are fixed or added, then Live Meetings would be a viable alternatively.
Hopefully better control of what is in the queue and the role of the Producer will be sorted out.
Thank you. -

Our marketing department want to be able to switch from Zoom to Teams Live Events. However, a major barrier is that Live Events does not allow us to pre-register and know who will be attending the meetings. This and the ability for attendees to ask voice questions, are important features that would mean we could switch from using Zoom.

We have had the same issue. When closing documents within nested folders, it is very frustrating to be taken right back to the top level. It would be very helpful to go back to the location of the actual file.

We are working on a design with more density in mind. Until this design is solidified we are putting this item back to Under Review.

We also would really like to be able to control this. We would like teachers, especially of younger students to be able to make private calls to students but prevent students from making private calls to each other or to teachers.
