This is super annoying. I would love to have this fixed. In the meantime, I found a workaround which is to name the channels with _initials of the team in the end. For example, each team is a client e.g Microsoft Corp. The channels in the team are categorised based on the work we do for client e.g Proposals channel, Meetings channel, etc...so after I create the team with the channels, I then edit the name and add _initials in it e.g Meetings_MS. So when searching in the Teams pane, I would search for either "_MS" and it would bring all channels of Microsoft Corp or "Meetings_MS" to get to the specific team's meetings channel
Due to prioritization of other work-items this has been moved to the backlog. We will update when it is being actively worked on again.
2 areas where the goto [team name] should be improved:
Currently, Goto [team name] takes you to the team/general channel by default which is one issue. It should take you to the Team giving you the option to see all the channels and be able to navigate to it. The workaround is to click on Team name to navigate back, then click on channels tab, from the list, finally click on the hyperlink of the channel you want to go to.
2. Continuation of (1). The left pane that has the list of teams and channels don’t update by focusing or highlighting the team which you are in. This becomes confusing and hard to navigate in and out the channels in a team.
I don’t understand how this has not been brought up and fixed.
Linking a Group section to teams doesn’t work. It takes you someone else in the notebook. Please give the option to do this.
I really like the suggestion of creating an alarm on a message, so you come back to it. I’ve passed this on to our engineering team.
Meanwhile, here’s another feature you can utilize for the same purpose — use our “bookmark” button, which is in the upper right corner of every message. This will save that message or thread directly to your profile. To access your saved messages, just click your face in the upper left corner of the product. You’ll see a tab in the left rail that says “Saved.” This is like a list of little reminders.
Hope that helps! :-)
This feature is under review by the feature team. No new feedback at this time.
The feature team is hard at work on this feature. We will share more news as we get closer to release.
The mobile app also doesn’t have the wiki app, who app, etc...
This feature request has been accepted by the feature team and is now on the backlog.
Thank you for all the feedback.
would love to have pictures in the files tab show by default in big thumbnails so you don't have to open to see them.
This feature is now on the backlog. I will update you when we have more details to share.
any update to this search feature to be made available please?
Yeh...unsure as to why the mobile app lacks. It should have been there. I have to do the workaround which is upload using onedrive.
We have raised the priority of this work item, and it is currently being worked on. We don’t have any dates to share at this point, but will update when we have new status. Thank you!
Even deleting a channel, it retains the corresponding folder in SharePoint. A simple solution would be to give the option when you rename or delete; if you would like to also delete or rename the corresponding folder in SharePoint? I mean, there are certain cases whereby you would want to remove the channel from Teams but keep its corresponding folder in SharePoint. Hence why a pop up message with an option would be an ideal solution.
