This would enable project teams to include their client, or other stakeholders, in a specific channel, without them having access to the other channels intended for the wider team. If we don't have this, then we'll end up with all other channels being private channels, which is not particularly helpful.
I have a template folder structure for each project for consistency and ease of finding what I need, but it contains three layers of sub-folders. I really don't want to be laboriously setting it up for every project, but at the moment I can't simply drag and drop a template folder structure into Teams. This shouldn't be difficult to resolve.
This item is still in the queue. I’m still awaiting more feedback and hope to have more details to share soon.
Creating a local sync copy in OneDrive seems very complicated, and I have to go via SharePoint which feels like introducing a third party to the process.
I would like to be able to click a Sync button in teams, and then be asked where in OneDrive I want to store a copy of the files (not just dumped in at top level where each new directory will just start to clutter up my OneDrive folder system).
This item is still under review. No new updates at this time.
For any commercial project to be run on teams, it is likely that Chat will contain statements that need to be captured for legal purposes. Chats therefore need to be possible to save as pdfs (and other predictable formats), ideally with selection dates from/to because a project of a couple of years could have an enormus chat log that could be usefully broken down/archived into more manageable files.
We are working on a better experience in Teams when a user is not connected to the internet. No timeline to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
I need to be able to sync files from Teams into my OneDrive so that I can work on files offline. Otherwise, I just end up with a version in a OneDrive folder that I copy to Teams or vice versa and then I have multiple versions of the truth, which is the opposite of what collaborative working is supposed to enable.
I can sort of do it if I open the Teams site up in SharePoint and then sync, but it feels more like a 'back door' solution than it should be. I should have an icon that says 'sync [to a location I specify on OneDrive]' and then I can always be looking at (and backing up) the latest version.
This item is still being reviewed by the feature team.
So happy to share that this is off the backlog and we are actively working on it!
We know you are patiently waiting for this feature. This feature is being implemented in stages. Fast tenant switching is currently in testing both internally and with early customers. We expect to release to the public in the Fall. I’ll post an update once it’s rolling out.
Full multi-tenant, multi-user support will be added after fast tenant switching.
