I fully agree! I hear a lot of people complain about this; they are used to having this function in WhatsApp, would be very convenient to have it in the Chat function of Teams too.
I think it would make the Chat function much more powerful, because it is more clear to which previous message you reply.

I fully agree! In many cases you can't see the full channel name.
Most people are used to working with Windows Explorer, where you can resize the width of the folders overview on the left. But in Teams desktop app everything is fixed.

Not everyone has the option to edit PDF files, but it would help a lot if I could simply open/view PDF files stored in Teams directly with Acrobat Reader.
Should be quite simple to add this option to the right-click menu, additional to 'Open online' and 'Open in SharePoint'.
I'm surprised that this idea gets so few votes and that Microsoft doesn't seem to pick it up yet.

We are now preparing for the roll out of Tasks in Teams which will integrate additional features integrating To-Do and Planner. This includes additional list views that also extend to tabs in teams. Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook
