This already works for a majority of my users - you have to go into your default apps setting and set the TEL protocol to use Teams.

The real uservoice here should be a setup step that sets this as default (or asks to set as default).

As far as calling phone numbers in outlook and other areas, it would be nice if Outlook or better yet, on a WINDOWS level, phone numbers are automatically detected and treated as TEL: protocol.

Same issue here with an exec docked via USB-C (Lenovo T495 w/hybrid dock). Not good when one of the company principals drops out of several all-employee meetings in the pandemic. Swapped to a different dock that seems to have worked, I think.

Timeline was around August 2020. All research points to USB-C docks and Realtek ethernet.

This will be a huge roadblock in our Teams adoption, when every other product supports any browser. Any added difficulty in setting up meetings stands out and I'm being asked to buy another product for "external" calls. Stop shooting yourself in the foot!

Do I have to do anything to make this work? I'm still getting number only; all numbers are properly detailed in (on-prem) AD/Azure AD.

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.
