We continue to avoid the use of the Comments section of Planner Tasks as the notification behavior is counter-productive. It is so inefficient to have to go elsewhere to have a private conversation about a task with just the assignees when the Comments section is sitting right there...and can't be used because it is not private!

    Re: the previous comment:

"Currently, comments that are added in the bottom section of the integrated Planner task are broadcast to all channel group members instead of merely the ones assigned to this task. This should be configurable because such comments are generally meant for the task assignees. Could not find any notification settings in Planner."

I agree. We ONLY want a task's comments to notify the creator of the task and the assignee(s) of the task - NOT the entire team.

Our issue is that any time a Comment is entered on a task, the entire team gets notified of the comment. We only want the creator of the task and the Assignee(s) of the task to be notified of new comments.

We are now preparing for the roll out of Tasks in Teams which will integrate additional features integrating To-Do and Planner. This includes additional list views that also extend to tabs in teams. Further announcements about additional integration in our overall Tasks coherence effort will follow.

You can follow the rollout via our Roadmap item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=57213. To see a preview of the experience, please visit https://youtu.be/rTATVGroEsQ.

Yes - here we are using a collaborative resource that aims te keep most if not all needs housed in one shell or umbrella application...yet we are relegated to remain in one window and cannot spread out as you describe. At least Chats should be able to be detached unto themselves like Skype for Business. And maybe individual Teams could be un-docked and have one complete Team on each monitor.

Some of our folks run the client version on one monitor and the web version on another monitor as a workaround.

We would like the option (even the default setting) of Task Comments only notifying the creator of the task and the Assignee(s) of the task. More people could be manually tagged if desired. We currently avoid using Comments in Tasks since the entire team gets notified.

The engineering team is continuing to work on adding support for multiple accounts on desktop clients. We will first launch support for 1 work/school account and 1 personal account so users can enjoy Teams for work and personal side-by-side. Windows and MacOS. Support for multiple work accounts is still being worked on and will come at a later date.

You can track status via the roadmap here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845.

    Thanks!
