Nice to see the addition of the feature, however I'm finding it distracting that the emoji all present themselves automatically simply by hovering over a message. As I'm reading through message threads, I just see emoji popping up on every single message. I feel a better implementation would be to simply pop up the "…" icon by itself on each message, and then expand all available "…" options once a user clicks it.

Voted. Would love to be able to group the various chats I have going on, especially to be able to separate Group Chats from Direct 1-1 chats.

Voted for this as well. I have a number of Contact Groups created per department to make it easier to find the people I need. I would prefer to keep them all collapses and expand them when needed. However they constantly expand themselves. It's not just when you restart Teams, you just have to merely navigate away from the Contacts tab and then go back, and they're all expanded again.

Agreed, this needs changed. My organization is new to Teams, and as simple a concept as it seems, there are far too many people who are starting new conversations when they should be replying. My vote would be to hide the "Start New conversation" section altogether behind a "Compose" button that needs clicked first. Change the Reply button to the default, ready-to-be-typed-in text bar. Essentially make Replying the default behavior rather than Starting a new conversation.

This is very much needed. Sometimes I'll respond once to a particular conversation, but the conversation continues on for 40-50 messages. Would love to be able to choose to just mute responses to a particular conversation that is no longer of interest.

Agreed, not sure on the actual best way to address this situation, but it's incredibly common to see people post what should have been a reply to the last thread as a brand new conversation. Part of this, as indicated by the OP, is the UI design. It's entirely too easy for new users to confuse the two areas where they can type (in spite of the clearly labeled REPLY and START A NEW CONVERSATION indicators). But definitely need a way to merge two separate threads into one.

Agreed, nothing worse than having to scroll all the way back up to the TOP of a thread just to collapse it. Put a collapse button right above reply at the bottom.

Agreed. My company is just coming from Hipchat, and that's the one feature I miss the most. In Hipchat, you just clicked someone's name in the current conversation, and it appended their @mention name into your comment. With Teams, you are forced to type @someone every single time you want to mention them. Click to Mention would be much more efficient.

This item is still under review by the feature team. I have no details as to when a decision might happen.

Agreed. When I'm on the Teams tab, I see an unread message indicator on the Chat tab, letting me know there are messages there waiting. If I'm on the Chat tab, there is nothing to indicate if there are new messages waiting under Teams. I have to just occasionally select Teams, and see if any of them are bold. Quite an inconvenience just to determine if I'm missing any new messages. Would love an unread message count on the Teams tab itself.

Agreed, we are experiencing this here. If you are attaching a large file, type your comment and hit Send before the file is finished uploading, you'll be met with an "Uploading, please wait" message. Then the user has to hit Send again (a second time) to actually send the message. Recommend Teams finish uploading the file in the bg and then actually send the message once the upload completes rather than forcing the user to hit send twice.
